The drawings, in their process, describe the experiences related to the work of fixing the photographic image - the imperfections and discolorations inherent to the results obtained by authors who initiated and developed the photography processes in their time. By inserting the visual expression of this antiquity into the drawing, the artist redefines the conception of time in the drawn image, and a relationship of similarity is opened between drawing and photography, with a view to enhancing a visual discourse related to the passage of time and memory. &nbsp; Os desenhos aqui apresentados constituem uma reflexão da sua dimensão estática, relacionando-a com o momento em que uma imagem é congelada quando captada por uma câmara. Ao relacionarmos o conceito de apneia (suster a respiração) com o momento em que a imagem é captada pela câmara, encontramos uma ligação com o instante em que a vida fica em suspenso - tanto na imagem que é fixada como no momento em que a respiração é interrompida. Assim, cada desenho inscreve-se nesse tempo suspenso, em que a própria temática da apneia visa relacionar-se com o momento em que o observador sustem o olhar diante o desenho. No entanto, os desenhos reflectem uma expressão que remete para fotografias relacionadas com uma antiguidade, explorada através do processo de trabalho - desenhos caracterizados por uma estética pictorialista, dimensão poética, marcas de antiguidade e descoloramentos - que intentam ser a prova de que é possível dissimular o olhar, fazendo acreditar que o tempo parou no momento desenhado. Como numa apneia, a ausência do acto de respirar faz-nos lembrar que a vida ficou em suspenso por um determinado momento. Se relacionarmos essa ausência com o momento em que uma fotografia é captada, no qual por vezes existe também a tendência natural de suster a respiração para que o movimento do corpo não interfira no disparo, talvez permita que a percepção da paragem do tempo se revele em cada desenho. <img width="2734" height="3543" width_o="2734" height_o="3543" da Silva https://rogeriosilvastudio.com/2024 A Câmera ausente O trabalho apresentado pode ser entendido como um processo de simulação, cujo resultado pretende evocar a manifestação do tempo da fotografia através do desenho. Interessa-me que o desenho se assuma como um espelho simulador do discurso da realidade fotográfica, adotando as suas características de expressão, tempo e degradação, tal como podemos verificar numa fotografia antiga. Desta forma, os desenhos vão sendo construídos não pela imposição ou adição de traços no papel, mas pela subtração da mancha, fazendo transparecer os brancos e as formas, tal como a luz é impressa numa emulsão fotográfica. No entanto, também simulam uma antiguidade e uma degradação do tempo no corpo do papel em que a imagem é impressa, abrindo assim caminhos para que se relacionem os dois discursos, tornando possível ao olhar identificar correspondências para que a memória se funda entre o desenho e a fotografia. The work presented can be understood as a simulation process, which result intended to evoke the manifestation of the time of the photography through drawing. I am interested in the fact that the drawing becomes a simulating mirror of the discourse of photographic reality, adopting its characteristics of expression, time and degradation, as we can see in an old photograph. In this way, the drawings will be constructed not by imposing or adding lines on the paper, but by subtracting the stain, making the whites and shapes shine through, just as light is printed on a photographic emulsion. However, they also simulate an antiquity and a degradation of time in the body of the paper on which the image is printed, thus opening ways for the two discourses to be related, making it possible to
